Youngest sister of the Swedish royal family was born at Drottningholm Palace June 10, 1982, and was named Madeleine Thérèse Amelie Josephine. She is fourth in line of succession and Duchess of Hälsingland and Gastrikland.

Madeleine has studied art history, history and law, and has a bachelors degree. University of Stockholm. She has a strong interest in architecture and design and has previously done work experience at Daisy home and architectural firm Sandell & Sandberg. She is also an accomplished horseman and was as young successful primarily in jumping.

Summer 2010 Madeleine move to New York where she has been working with the charity Childhood Foundation. Relatively soon after her arrival she meets financier Chris O’Neill and they develop a close friendship. Later, they are in love, but manages to keep the relationship secret. When the images of the pair escaping in January 2011, they are a stable couple.

Princess moves later that year together with Chris in Manhattan, New York. Madeleine makes during this time only a few visits to Sweden and on several of the occasions she takes her boyfriend. When Chris attends Princess Estelle’s baptism in June 2012 begins experts say that an engagement is soon near.

On 25 October 2012 the court confirmed that the couple got engaged. In a video sent out says Princess Madeleine that Chris proposed to her and she said yes.

“We are very happy.”
